"1 Samuel 15, Psalm 24"

1 Samuel 15:22-23

22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

The Scriptures above show us how important it is to obey God and do exactly what He tells us to do!

Psalm 24:1-5, 7-8
1 The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
I love reading these Scripture verses and knowing without a doubt Our Lord Jesus created this wonderful earth that we live on.

"Blog post for September 18th,2018"

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Psalm 23:4.
It is so encouraging that the Lord will comfort us. He has comforted me more than I can remember!

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." Psalm 23:6. Goodness will follow you and me all the days of our lives!

"Blog post for September 17th, 2018"

"Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding."

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength."

"Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:"

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Isaiah 40:28-31.

These verses of Scripture in Isaiah 40 were in our family devotions and they spoke to me.

"For the kingdom is the LORD's: and he is the governor among the nations." Psalm 22:28.

No matter what the people in this world say He is the governor and our ruler!!!!!!!!!

"Great things He hath done"

"Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes."
"Is it not wheat harvest to day? shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king."
"So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel."
I Samuel 12:16-18.
The Lord punished the people because they wanted a king and God didn't want them to have one.

"Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you." I Samuel 12:24.
May we all realize all the great things that God has done for us!!!

"Listening Ear"

"The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;"
"Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;"
Psalm 20:1-2.
I can't stress enough how much that God is with us in the time of our troubles. All you need to do is Pray for help and He will give you the help you need during that time of trouble.

"We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions." Psalm 20:5.
Praise God when He helps you through the difficult times and during the good times as well!

"Acceptable"

"The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether."
"More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."
"Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward."
Psalm 19:9-11.

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."
Psalm 19:14.
Yes. Lord help me to speak kind words and to speak nicely of every person I come in contact with through my everyday living.

"Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Beth-el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:"
I Samuel 10:3.
I did not realize that this verse was in the Bible. I love learning new stuff that is in the Bible. There is just nothing like learning new things about God's Word. You don't see much in the Bible about men with kids and it just made my heart happy when I read that verse this morning!

"His way is Perfect"

"The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."
"I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies." Psalm 18:2-3.

The Lord truly is my rock, fortress, deliverer, God and strength. He is such an awesome Father! I couldn't make it a day without His help!

"As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him." Psalm 18:30.
I'm so thankful that God's way is perfect!!!!!!!!!!

"Be happy and content"

You can always learn something new when you read your Bible. As I was reading in I Samuel 8 this morning/afternoon I learned that Samuel had a son named Joel which I didn't know.

"Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned (simulated or pretended; insincere) lips." Psalm 17:1
Verse 1 says that Jesus hears our cry's and Prayers.

"Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress." Psalm 17:3
Verse 3 says that Jesus hears us in the night time!

"I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech." Psalm 17:6
Verse 6 tells me that God is always listening to us and never ignores us. He truly is our best friend to talk to every hour!

"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, (contented; pleased.) when I awake, with thy likeness." Psalm 17:15
Verse 15 tells me we should awake and be happy! 🙂

"God First"

"Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us." I Samuel 7:12
Another reason in the Bible to prove to us that God will help us just like He did Samuel and the children of Israel.

"I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons."
"I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."
Psalm 16:7-8
Verse 8 is telling us to put God first in our lives!

"For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."
"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Psalm 16:10-11
Verse 10 tells us that God will not leave our souls in hell and in Verse 11 it goes on to tell us that God will show us the path way of life!!!!!!!!

"Kind Words"

"LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?"
"He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart."
"He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour."
"In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not."
"He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved."
Psalm 15:1-5

Such a powerful chapter in the Bible!!!!! Lord, help me to treat people fairly and kindly all the days of my life! Also, to speak kindly to all who I come in contact with!

"Because He Lives"

I know it has been awhile since I've posted on this blog of encouragement. But I had surgery on Monday and was recovering from that. Today, was my first day back to work which means I'm back to doing my daily task. So here it goes. "The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God." Psalm 14:2. What comes to mind when I read this verse is that the Lord was looking down on his dear children. To me I see a picture of God and our loved ones looking over us! 😃 A song that I usually either read or sing in my Devotions is coming to mind.....Because He lives I can face tomorrow!!!! He's the reason we can face our everyday task without fear or worry.

"Compassion"

"But I have trusted (believed in the truth) in thy mercy; (compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone) my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation (deliverance from sin)." Psalm 13:5. Such a powerful Scripture verse!

"Pure Words"

"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." Psalm 12:6.

Lord, help us all to use words that are kind and Christ like!

Lord, help us all to be more like you in our everyday living!

"Scripture"

"In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?" Psalm 11:1.

"Prayers"

Psalm 10:16-"The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land." Psalm 10:17-"Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:" Verse 17 tells us that God listen to our Prayers. We already knew that but its nice to be reassured that He does hear our Prayers! 🌝

"God's House"

Yesterday, morning at Church the message was just for me! The verse that really caught my eye was "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10. In the time of our weakness He will help us! He will strengthen us, help us and uphold us. What more could we ask for? HE TRULY IS AN AMAZING, AWESOME AND WONDERFUL GOD! 🌝⛪

And today on the way home I turned the radio on and my CD (The Lord is Good by the Collingsworth Family) that I have started playing. The song is called "It Matters to the Master" started playing and it was just what I needed. It has to be one of my favorite songs now!!!!!! I listened to the song and sang it didn't times but never really paid attention to all of the words. But I did on my way to work and back today. And it blessed my soul!!!!!!

If you would like to listen to the song click the link above.

Also the Collingsworth Family have a new CD ("Mercy and Love") coming out and the previews are awesome! I've been enjoying listening to it as well! You can purchase it here.

"Trust and Praise Our Father..."

the Bible tells us to trust in Our Heavenly Father in Psalm 7:1-"O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:" Lord help us to trust in you more and more for our daily task and life decisions.

"I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high." Psalm 7:17. Thank you Jesus for the beautiful hymns and songs you have given us to sing, to glorify your name.

Tuesday, August 14, 2018

I went to camp last week for several of the services and felt God's presence there. It was such a great refreshing time for me Spiritually!

"Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed." Psalm 6:2. In the verse it says I am weak. We all have had a time in our life when it just felt like we couldn't go on, but we had God who pulled us through it. He goes on to say heal me; for my bones are vexed. He heals us from surgeries or whatever else it maybe in life. Later on in the chapter he says "Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping." Psalm 6:8. I'm so thankful that God hears our voices. He continues in verse 9 and says "The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer." I'm glad he didn't stop in verse 8. It is so wonderful that he hears our voices and answers our Prayers!

"Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies." Psalm 6:7. Thank God he can help us through our times of grief. What would we do without God? Absolutely nothing. He helps us through every phase in our lives and brings us out victorious.

"Change"

Thankful that God is changing me for the good! And He can change you too for the better. Till next time.

"Faithful"

It's been a busy last two weeks. I have started a new job and therefore I don't have as much time to get on here and blog. During this time I have remembered how God is faithful and encourages us. God has really been helping me along this journey that we call life! Through the job hunting he has been so faithful to me encouraging me along the way. God has chosen this job for me. He worked out different things for me to be able to get this job! It was a long journey waiting for his will and divine leading. But HE is faithful. If you are struggling with God leading you and knowing what to do for His will let me encourage you to have faith and let it all work out for God's will! Till next time!😃

"Uplifting"

"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." I Thessalonians 5:11

Let us encourage and comfort one another during difficult times in their lives. Let us be uplifting not discouraging others.

"Be Still"

I have a sign on my Husband's nightstand in our bedroom that came from my sister-in-law's Melody and Moriah for a Christmas present. Yesterday I happen to look at it and it struck me about what it really meant. "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10. Knowing that God has everything in control is up lifting.

"Putting God First"

Whatever it may be that you are struggling with go to God first instead of trying to figure it out yourself. I've been practicing this more and God is helping me. In my Devotions this morning I was in the Bible reading about the Israelites and how they tried to fight the battles without calling to God for help first. Whether you are worried about getting stuff done in time or getting money to pay bills because your paycheck just wasn't enough or whatever else it might be, Pray to God first. Then try to resolve the issue. God will help you resolve it!

"If It's Meant To Be..."

God WILL work it out!! I have been learning this especially the last two months. I have been Praying for something for two months and God answered Prayer today. When it looked liked there was no way God chose to answer that Prayer! One thing is for certain I am trusting Him more and more each day!

"Hope"

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11. God has plans for each and every one of our lives. Just know that the trail or thing you are going through, God had it planned long before you were born. We have hope that we can get through it because God said in His Word he would give us peace and an expected end. It makes me happy knowing that God thinks about me and you! He has our lives under control!

"Presence"

I have really felt the Lord's help the last few days and it's so encouraging especially the Prayers He has answered the last few days! I keep telling myself if it is the Lord's will then it'll happen like He wants it too! "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33. It's encouraging to know that no matter what we go through that we can have peace because God has told that in Him we might have peace. And knowing that God has overcome the world is all the more encouraging because it just proves us more that He can do anything and can take care of us no matter what.

"Strength"

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." Isaiah 40:29. Jesus will give you power and strength to get you through every day life physically, mentally and emotionally just hold on. We have a goal to make it to Heaven and enjoy our time with Jesus Christ. Our trails will seem so small when we get to Heaven so just hold on!

Daily Encouragment

This week I have really been Praying some earnest Prayers and been struggling a lot but I know who holds my hand and my future! I'm so thankful that God can help me do the right thing and to the show the right attitude!!!! I'm also so thankful that he has helped me with one thing and I know he will help me do the other things. Because he says so in his Word! "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:13. "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." John 14:14. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith." Galatians 5:22. I'm thankful that Jesus is helping me and though its taking me a while I know he will never leave my sight. "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." I Peter 5:7. This is exactly what I'm doing today casting all my cares, struggles and hurtfulness on Him today. "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;" Colossians 3:23. I am so encouraged by God's Word today. He is giving me about every Scripture verse I need to help me through these trying times. "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:"
Ephesians 4:31. "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32. I'm so thankful that Jesus forgave me of my sins and I wanna be sure and forgive others like he wants me to do and to show the kind Christian attitude I'm suppose to do. I hope these words have encouraged you as much as they have me!

"It will be worth it all"

As I was reading another blog I seen the saying it will be worth it all then it had me thinking of the song. It will be worth it all when we see Jesus life's trails will seem so small when we see Christ, just one glimpse of His dear face, all trails will seem so small when we see Christ (I'm sure I didn't get the lyrics right)! One of my favorite songs. It will definitely be worth it all when we see Christ. Keep encouraged in the Lord!

"Comfort"

"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Let us do our best to encourage one another in our journey to Heaven! It's not always easy to keep ourselves encouraged but lets do our best so we can help others and show a Christ like attitude!

"Scripture Verse of the Day"

On my Bible app this morning I opened it up and the verse of the day was Proverbs 31:20-"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised." I wanted to share, it is such a good Scripture verse, but they all are! :)

The app is called Bible KJV if your interested in it.

"Favorites"

One of my favorite Scripture verses is Philippians 4:13-"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." It is such an encouraging Scripture verse! Especially while you are exercising (One of my New Year's Resolution) to lose weight or drinking water (I can not stand water). Just knowing that know matter what you go through in life you can do it through Christ!!!!! Take that Scripture verse throughout the coming weeks and it will surely help you!

"Monday's"

A day late I know. I was thinking about Monday's yesterday but didn't get a chance to post it on here. I personally like Monday's a new week of starting fresh and something about that long weekend gets me in gear to get started doing my daily task again! I think in our human nature we get it stuck in our heads that Monday's are a dreadful day but it doesn't have to be that way. I understand that Monday's are rough but isn't that every day? Life is full of obstacles and those obstacles don't just happen on Monday's but during the week as well. We just have to over come it and stay encouraged in Jesus!

"Be Happy"

There is saying/song that says Don't worry be Happy!!!! Don't stress about the small things in life (I know its easier said than done). But try to be happy and encourage yourself! Sing a song, Pray or Read your Bible when you are struggling!

"New Year's Resolutions"

Today I made some New Year's Resolutions. It was my first time to do so. As I was thinking about them and before I made the list I was thinking about the people who always make New Year's Resolutions and never do them and how I didn't wanna be one of those people. So that being said I wanted to encourage you all to make New Year's Resolutions and actually do them and hang them on your fridge or somewhere that you will see them daily, that way you can accomplish them! Probably the biggest New Year's Resolution I made was to hit my dream weight goal (I don't know if that's even possible that's why its a dream weight goal) or just lose weight in general and I mean to strive daily to lose weight. Till next time!
